“God knows my struggles, so He sent me my wife. I know most men say that, but I really need to tell y’all this story about what God can do—and how He could do it for you, too.

I was married for 14 years to a good woman. She was a great woman, actually. But we were heading in two different directions. Eventually, I started talking to another lady and thought I wanted to marry her. Deep down, I knew I couldn’t be with her forever.

I prayed and asked God for guidance. I said, “Lord, send me somebody.” I got so specific in my prayers. I told Him exactly what I wanted: I asked for her to be two years younger than me, to be like a black kid. I didn’t want her to be too short, but I didn’t want her taller than me either. I asked for her to have a lot of sisters, but I wanted her to be the youngest—and the prettiest. And guess what? She is. (I'll put a picture up right here.)

I asked God for her to be able to sing—not just her, but for all of them to be able to sing. But I wanted her to really be able to sing. I asked for her to have a master’s degree. But there was one major thing I wanted above all else. Besides her relationship with God, I prayed for her main focus to be to please me.

I wanted her to have the kind of heart that says, “I just want to make my husband happy.” And the reason I prayed for this is because I know myself as a person—what I live for is making my wife happy. That’s my purpose.

You see, most men need to follow what Jesus did. If you want to be like Jesus, it means you’ve got to be willing to die for your wife just like Jesus died for His church. You’ve got to sacrifice on the highest level. So, I prayed for a woman who would say, “My husband is my main priority.” And God sent me my wife.

Now, I know you might be thinking, whether you’re male or female, “I wish I could have somebody like that.” And the truth is—you can. The key is, you can’t want it just for selfish reasons. You have to want to give yourself as much as you expect them to give themselves to you. And that’s when everything starts to balance out.

It’s not about looks or money. What truly matters is what your heart needs. Does that person fill that void? And are you willing to give that person the same love and dedication you want from them?

God gave me the perfect woman. She’s not perfect in everything, but she’s just perfect for me.”
