Key to receiving God's package

Why your faith is key to receiving God's gifts

Steve Harvey once shared a compelling metaphor about faith and receiving blessings:

“When you ask God for something, He boxes it up, puts your name on it, and ships it the day you ask for it. As soon as you ask for it, He ships it.

The problem with the package is that He never tells you the date it’s going to arrive. If He did that, it would destroy the one element that He requires: your faith.

So, God sends your package, but He only delivers to Faith Street. If you step off Faith Street, and you go over to I Don’t Believe It Boulevard, He doesn’t ship there. If you step over to I Don’t See How Avenue, He doesn’t ship there. If you step over to Ain’t No Way Circle, He doesn’t ship there.

The package only goes to Faith Street. What happens to the average person is that when the package arrives and you’re not on Faith Street, it’s just like the post office, FedEx, or UPS. If you’re not there, the package has to go back.”

Lesson

The lesson from Steve Harvey’s metaphor is about the critical role of faith in receiving our blessings. When we pray and ask for something, God prepares and sends it, but the exact timing of its arrival is unknown. This uncertainty is meant to test and strengthen our faith. To ensure that we receive what we’ve asked for, we must remain steadfast on Faith Street—continuing to believe and trust in God’s timing, even when we can't see the immediate outcome. Our faith is the key that keeps the delivery on track.
